I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought we'd never in a million years get another journey into the world of Blade Runner, yet somehow the movie gods have smiled upon us and the sequel sci-fi fans have been waiting for, Blade Runner 2049, is imminent. A few months ago we were shown a small glimpse of life on set with this casual shot of stars Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, producer Ridley Scott, and director Denis Villeneuve (oh, to be a fly on that wall).

But now we finally have footage to salivate over. Yesterday the first teaser trailer was released, and oh man, is it epic. We get a peek at Ryan Gosling as LAPD Officer K, plenty of haunting imagery, dense yellow fog, and those dark, noir-ish city streets. Oh, and also, in case your were interested, a little run-in with a fellow by the name of Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford). The film is directed by Denis Villeneuve whose previous film credits include Sicario, Prisoners, and one of my favorite films of 2016, Arrival. Tonally and visually, the film looks to be on par with the original which is quite promising. Check out the teaser below.

Blade Runner 2049 is scheduled for release on October 6th, 2017.
