The third and last series (season) of the ITV cult favourite Broadchurch, starring David Tennant as DI Alec Hardy and Olivia Colman as DS Ellie Miller, is now set to premiere in the UK. The show will start its last series on Monday, 27 February at 9pm on ITV. The new season will tackle a new mystery regarding a serious sexual assault. Returning cast members are Arthur Darvill, who also returned as Rip Hunter in CW's DC's Legends of Tomorrow in the last half of the season, Jodi Whittaker, and Andrew Buchan. New cast members are Sir Lenny Henry, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Sarah Parish, Mark Bazeley, Charlie Higson, and Georgina Campbell who will play the new detective who will team up with Hardy and Miller.

During the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour 2017 it was announced that Broadchurch will also return to BBC America in March. It was also revealed that the final series includes a time jump of three years where Hardy still worries about his daughter and Ellie has moved on from Joe.

In an interview, star David Tennant said that he is proud to be associated with the show. He also says that "There is a massive personal legacy having worked on this show… we all feel like we have been doing something very special and that we are all a part of each other’s lives now so I’ll miss seeing people every day but hopefully I will see them fairly regularly."

Showrunner, creator and writer Chris Chibnall will be running the 11th season of Doctor Who which will likely to premiere fall of next year with a new face of the Doctor after current star Peter Capaldi announced his departure earlier this month.

Broadchurch Series 3 will premiere in the UK on 27 February, 9pm on ITV. It will premiere in the US via BBC America in March.
