The Librarians episode S03E02, "And the Fangs of Death", aired on Sunday and it was intense. The "official" Librarian, Flynn Carsen (Noah Wyle), wakes up from a nightmare about the apocalypse at the very beginning of the episode. The problem is the dream is a warning given by an old friend: Charlene (Jane Curtain). She is still around but is pretty much out of the Library business since she was the Guardian to both the previous Librarian  (Bob Newhart) and Library, which are gone.

Flynn and his Guardian, Eve Baird (Rebecca Romijn), take off to find her. They do and when she says she does not want to go they tell her why she is needed. She tells them to spend the night and they will leave in the morning. She is gone when they wake up and her “servants” (you really want to see the episode to see what I mean) are all dead. The two take off to get the rest of the Librarians to find her. The other Librarians (apprentices really) are Jake Stone (Christian Kane), Cassandra Cillian (Lindy Booth), and Ezekiel Jones (John Harlan Kim). They also bring Jenkins (John Laroquette) who is the current Library’s Caretaker.

I do not want to give the entire episode away so let me tell you why you should watch it. First, for those who prefer to have Wyle on the show, this is the second episode in a row he has been around for which is rare. There are werewolves involved but not the normal ones and it is much better than the romantic ones we see too often these days. Apep, an Egyptian god, is back but that is not the only god of the pantheon there. Egyptian gods always make for interesting shows.

When the group finds the place they believe Charlene went, they find chaos. There was an explosion that took place before they got there and a quickly spreading disease going around. It appears the former Guardian was in the area at the time of the explosion. They review some security footage which appears to show she was in it but it can’t be confirmed right away. The woman is wearing the necklace that Charlene always wears; there is no shot of this person's face.

There are two questions about this episode whose answers depend on if Charlene was the woman in the footage and therefore blown up. How will the Library, the Librarians, the Guardian, and Jenkins keep the apocalypse from happening without her? If it is not her will Flynn take off in the Library’s, and the world’s, darkest hour to find her?

There is a third question that is strictly opinion and you can answer it in a poll. Do you prefer the "official" Librarian being there or do you prefer just the others? Let us know in the poll below.
