Sherlock fans are used to the waiting game. With new seasons rolling out every 2 years (IF WE'RE LUCKY), it's a special kind of fandom pain when you realize that you don't have the yearly crime-solving duo of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman to tide you over the cold winter months. Sure, we got the special last year, but we haven't had 3 whole new episodes since 2014! Much of this is due to the two actors' exponential rise in fame since the series started and their other film commitments.

However, we finally have news about when to expect that elusive fourth season. The fourth season premiere, titled "The Six Thatchers," will air on January 1st, 2017 in both the U.S. and the U.K. Quite possibly the best start to a brand new year? I would say so!
