Earlier today during the Television Critics Association, Showtime CEO David Nevins announced the premiere date for Twin Peaks. Not only do we get a premiere date, but we also learn how many episodes we'll get for the season. Everything is sounding good at the moment, correct? Regrettably there is one down fall to the news that came during the event. Nevins did confirm that the series, and I quote; “It’s designed to be a close-ended one-time event.”

Could Showtime change its mind though? What if the season does wonderfully well? Could that be enough to get another chapter? It happened with The X-Files

Regardless, at least we know now that Twin Peaks will premiere  Sunday, May 21st with a two-hour season premiere. If you are a Showtime subscribers, you are in luck. You will be able to watch episode 3 and 4 right after.

The total season order is 18 episodes!
