This past fall a lot of new TV shows has won the hearts of the staff members at Voice of TV. In fact, in our recent Top 10 TV shows of 2015, our top 3 shows consist of three new series. As we make our way to 2016, our favorite shows will return, but also we will be introduced to new shows. Once again the Voice of TV staff members came together as a group and a list of the new shows we recommend watching this mid-season.

The Family: ABC (March 3rd)
This thriller follows the return of a politician's young son who was presumed dead after disappearing over a decade earlier. As the mysterious young man is welcomed back into his family, suspicions emerge - is he really who he says he is?

Lucifer: FOX (January 25th)
This story is about the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar has abandoned his throne and retired to L.A., where he owns Lux, an upscale nightclub.

American Crime Story: FX (February 2nd)
A limited series that takes you inside the O.J. Simpson trial with a riveting look at the legal teams battling to convict or acquit the football legend of double homicide. Based on the book "The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson" by Jeffrey Toobin, it explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution overconfidence, defense shrewdness, and the LAPD's history with the city's African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.

The Catch: ABC (March 24th)
From Shondaland's Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Allan Heinberg, this thriller centers on the strong, successful Alice Vaughn. She is LA's top private investigator - and the one woman you don't want to mess with. But when her fiance cons her out of millions and disappears, Alice goes on a private mission for payback.

Containment: The CW (Midseason 2016)
When a mysterious and deadly epidemic breaks out in Atlanta, a vast urban quarantine is quickly enforced, forcing those stuck on the inside to fight for their lives while local and federal officials desperately search for a cure.

Legends of Tomorrow: The CW (January 21st)
When heroes alone are not enough”¦ the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself.

Second Chance: FOX (January 13th)
The series follows the life of Jimmy Pritchard, a 75-year-old former Los Angeles County sheriff who was morally corrupt and later disgraced and forced to retire. After he is killed in a robbery at his son's home, Pritchard is brought back to life in the improved body of a younger man by billionaire tech-genius twins Mary and Otto Goodwin. However, despite having a new life and a chance to relive his life and find a new purpose, the temptations that led to his career being tarnished continue to haunt him.

Shades of Blue: NBC (January 7th)
Harlee Santos is an NYPD detective and single mother struggling with financial problems. When she is caught up in an FBI anti-corruption probe, she must choose between doing the right thing for her daughter or covering up for her corrupt police co-workers.

Outsiders: WGN America (January 26)
A struggle for power and control set in the rugged and mysterious hills of Appalachia, Outsiders tells the story of the Farrell clan, a family of outsiders who've been in these parts since before anyone can remember. Living off the grid and above the law on their mountaintop homestead, they'll protect their world and defend their way of life using any means necessary.

Preacher: AMC (2016)
A story of Jesse Custer, a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse embarks on a journey to literally find God, joined by his ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).

Colony: USA (January 14th)
Set in the very near future, Colony centers on one family's struggle to survive and bring liberty back to the people of an occupied Los Angeles. While some choose to collaborate with the occupation and benefit from the new order, others rebel and suffer the consequences.

Shadowhunters ABC Family - Freeform (January 12th)

Clary Fray is a normal teenager living in Brooklyn. One day, she discovers that she is part of an elite race of half human, half angel people called Shadowhunters. She meets Jace Wayland, a cocky, handsome teen with killer instincts. Together, along with some friends, they go on the ultimate quest to find and defeat many enemies from the past.
